Hiding rather shyly in the foliage
But for now... here are some photos of the Little Red Tomato That Could... and the Little Green Tomatoes That Also Can! I'm so pleased that I havent managed to kill the plant - neither with kindness nor through neglect. Even my 6 beautful rose bushes are thriving, and my bay trees and mint and basil and oregano and parsley as well... maybe, just maybe, my black fingers are turning a wee bit green...
But for now, here are the photos!

ReplyDeletehey shyam, i have 6 tiny tomato saplings in a pot....all because of pouring the water in which veggies were washed....i'm wondering if i should transplant / separate them....should i?? your tomatoes look so pretty, am excited for mine suddenly!! that is if i dont manage to kill them off!!
ReplyDeleteGini: herb pix? Didnt think of it, but I guess I could post some pix of those too! :)
ReplyDeleteArundati: Good luck with your tomatoes too! It might be a good idea to transplant them, because my one little tomato plant (started out 6" tall) is now nearly 6 feet tall! :)
Well, congratulations, proud tomato mama :) I can just imagine how excited you are! They do look adorable.

ReplyDeleteTomato looks beautiful... I know how happy you feel when we get a fruit or vegetable from your own garden.
ReplyDeletedoes the little cutie have a name?
ReplyDeleteThe first ones are so delightful, aren't they - we take pictures, talk about them and even talk to them. :-) I had several tomato plants last year and had a real blast cooking with them. This year I was busy with other things and had to sadly abandon gardening.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, and looking forward to see more.
never been much of a gardener... but your little one looks so cute :-)
ReplyDeleteShyamala!!
ReplyDeleteThose tomatoes are an absolute delight to the eyes!! Picking fruit and veg from our own garden is soemthing worth doing right??
Priya: Thanks, I need all the luck going! :)
ReplyDeletePrema: Yep, I'm only now beginning to find out. It's such fun!
Bee: Hahaha. :D No, it doesnt have a name. Once you name something, it gets personalised and then you cant eat it (or harvest it) :)
Evolvingtastes: I've stopped short of talking to them, but I'm doing well on talking ABOUT them! :D
Raaga: My first successful effort, this :)
Padmaja: It absolutely is! I've only grown herbs so far, but next year I hope to be more adventurous :)
Oooh!! Shammi, those tomatoes look fantabulous!!! I'm so happy for you :):) Just beautiful!! That first little red baby brings such a sense of satisfaction, doesn't it :) Enjoy!!!
