There, it's done.

This is what I was working on for the last two weeks and a bit, somewhat neglecting everything else that needed doing! :) It's finished now.... at least until the urge to begin another project becomes too insistent to ignore.

That is beautiful. The only kind of stitching I know is crossstitch. havent done any projects in a long time. How long did it take to complete.

Thanks, ladies! :)

Gini - I dont have the patience for cross-stitch - too much counting and concentration involved :) All of the embroidery I do is freestyle.

Ashwini - heheh. Phew, what a relief ;)

Vineela - Thanks again. I love bright colours too!

Hey Shammi,
I thought people had forgotten embroidery. Too old-fashioned? Good to see somebody still doing and enjoying it. Btw, that's a lot of different stitches involved. Great that you can do so many of them. What are you going to do with this piece now? Planning to hang it on the wall?

Wow! It almost looks like machine-embroidery! And so even! Did you draw and colour code it yourself? I wouldn't be surprised if you said yes. Very pretty.

Very pretty and adorable. So what if you neglected blogging for a while, this is so cool. Planning on starting an embroidery blog? :))

Vaishali - If and when I get around to having it framed, it will go on somebody's wall. Yep :)

Ammani - Thanks. Design copied off a library book of old Jacobean designs. Colour scheme all mine!

Luv2cook - Nope, no plans of starting an embroidery blog! But I do have a collection online of other embroidered/painted things, if you're interested :)

That is so pretty, Shammy. Color combination and design looks lovely and stich is very neat.
I am curious about your next project?

I love doing embroidery and cross stich. They are like meditation to me. I have done few pieces. Would you like to see?

Shammi, that's great free-style embroidery. You should show us more of such pieces.

Just love hand embroidery and let me tell you that I do a lot of embroidery myself. Working on a bed spread right now..:)

Hi Shammi:
Came from Indira of Mahanandi's site.

Your free style embroidery piece looks beautiful. Like you, I am a big fan of free style embroidery and often design pieces myself for stitching.

In one of the replies to comments, you mentioned that you have a site for these pieces. Could you please post link to that site. I would love to see your other pieces. Thanks.

Sumitha, Nupur - thanks :)

Sailu - I've done a couple of tablecloths but not yet a bedspread. Is it freestyle embroidery or some other type? Could I see some pics of your embroidery work too?

Pavani - Thanks for stopping by. Would love to see your work too. I'll add a link to some of my other pieces... just watch this space! :)

Hi Shammi,
Came to your blog from Indira or Mahanandi. You have done a great job on that embroidery. I would like to know if it is done on cloth or felt.

Hi Srividya, the embroidery is done on black silk-cotton.
